Salary: £37,360- £43,886 per annum (inc. LW) depending on experience

About the role

The main purpose of the role is to undertake rigorous research and provide support to stakeholders (researchers, policy makers and practitioners), on large datasets and evidence on mega trends in global finance. You will establish how mega trends are shaping developments in the international financial system and the global economy.

As a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow you will conduct research of the highest quality and make significant contribution to the creation of knowledge, as well as to provide strategic and operational support by undertaking a specified range of activities.

The fintech (Financial Technologies) revolution is constantly evolving, however, it is not clear if finance is becoming more inclusive. As a Research Fellow you will enhance theoretical and empirical understanding of Inclusive finance in a global context.

You will also lead build large-scale datasets to examine research questions relating to flow of funds and major developments in the world economy.

About you

An excellent communicator with a passion for research, you’ll be able to produce high quality documents from research outputs.

Enthusiastic and a highly motivated individual, you’ll also need to demonstrate your experience in:

  • Presenting information on research progress and outcomes, and communicating complex information, orally, and in writing

  • Communicating  research findings of the Centre for Global Finance by writing papers for publication in top-tier academic journals

  • Applications of finance theory to investigate challenges faced by policy makers and private sector practitioners.

With a PhD (or if you are near completion of a PhD) in a relevant field including accounting, finance, or banking, plus an in-depth knowledge of finance theory and expertise in applied financial econometrics (including skills of data management and quantitative research methods).
