Abstract
This is a special CGF seminar on interbank markets in Sub-Saharan Africa, including participants of researchers and policy makers from central banks and policy institutions, notably the Bank of Zambia, Central Bank of Kenya, Kenya Bankers Association, Bank of Uganda, COMESA Monetary Institute, Reserve Bank of Malawi, Loughborough University and SOAS University of London. The discussion includes evidence from the research project on ‘Delivering inclusive financial development and growth’ led by SOAS Centre for Global Finance (ESRC research grant reference ES/N013344/2). The programme starts with a highlight of key institutional challenges and policy issues, followed by country experiences and finally a consideration of future directions on interbank market research in Africa.
